JIC Adapter are available as standard in Brass and 316 Stainless Steel. Pipe Fittings can also be supplied in other materials including Monel®, Hastelloy® C276, Inconel®, Incoloy®, Duplex, Super Duplex and Titanium, as well and in special shapes. While the standard materials are 316 stainless steel, brass and carbon steel, we can also manufacture these fittings in other materials to meet your company’s needs. The basic fitting capabilities show the fittings will stand up during prolonged exposure to temperatures as high as 800°F. Those ratings are dependent upon the design and whether the fitting is 316 stainless steel or brass. JIC Adapter made of 316 stainless steel are heat code traceable for the benefit of your operation.

What are JIC Threads ?
JIC fitting are commonly used in the Fluid Power industry in a diagnostic and test-point setting. A three way JIC coupling provides a port inline of circuit in which a user can connect a measurement or diagnostic device to take pressure readings and perform circuit and system diagnostics.
JIC fittings and adapters are often used in hydraulic systems. JIC adapters are used to connect hydraulic hose assemblies to components such as pumps, cylinders, valves and tube assemblies. JIC Adapters can also bridge different connection types or allow for proper alignment.
The Joint Industrial Committee or JIC male has straight threads and a 37 degree flare seat. The JIC female has straight threads and a 37° flare seat. The seal is made on the 37° flare seat. Like other kinds of flared connections, the seal is achieved through metal-to-metal contact on the surface of the fitting cone and the inside surface of the flared tubing.
